I recently moved to a new apartment and when I was setting up my wireless network I stupidly reset the settings to factory default on my Airport Extreme Base Station... and now I'm having a hell of time getting my PS3 working with it again. I'm pretty sure the problem is that the AEBS does not support UPnP, which the PSN apparently needs. So the way around this is to set up the PS3 with its own static IP address, and then do port forwarding, right? Well, I've set up all of the ports for the PSN that I got off of Sony's site into my AEBS, I've assigned an IP address in the DHCP settings of the AEBS, and then I entered that IP address manually into the PS3, right?
Well, according to the Settings and Connection Status List on the PS3 it has a 100% signal strength, NAT 2 definition, and all looks right. I can even launch the PS3's web browser and poke around. But as soon as I try logging into the Playstation Store or Home(I don't know why I still have that installed...), I get errors, and when I try to run the connection test it always fails at the PlaystationNetwork Test. What's frustrating me is that I've been all over the interwebs looking for a solution, and wasted an afternoon last weekend talking with my cable provider, Apple and Sony and everyone blames the other guy. Google has failed me, because the DNS error I get is solved for most people by changing the DNS settings to 4.2.2.2 and 4.2.2.1... however, that does not solve my problem.
I know I'm ranting, and I may have spouted a whole bunch of junk that some people may not understand or care about... but I figured there must be someone else out there who has had this problem and solved it. I mean, hell, before I moved I DID have my PS3 connected wirelessly through my AEBS... I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong THIS time around.
On a side note... I'm working on a school/personal project and I would like some help in a few key categories:
Voice Acting: I need a male and female voice who can do kid-like voices without sounding too fake and too cartoony.
Character Rigging: I hate, hate, HATE rigging CG Models and I'm hoping I can find someone who enjoys it.
Music: I need some adventurous sounding music... like... swashbuckling type stuff.
Obviously I'm broke, so I'm hoping to find people who are looking for stuff for their portfolios or would like to barter. Since this project for me is mainly for my own portfolio to show off my skills, anyone who works with me would be encouraged to use the piece for their own portfolio and job seeking purposes. I'd prefer to work with people in the Southern California area, preferably Los Angeles County whereabouts. But if I know you and/or trust you, I'd be willing to work through the tubes of the internet.
