Troll Mech by ryusuke Troll Mech by ryusuke
I was doing some quick sketches at work today, and the last one I did turned into this several hours later. I wanted to do a big hulking mech, sort of a Sci Fi Big Daddy kind of thing. I was also thinking about sci fi anime like Macross and such. Part way through I got to joking about this being a direct descendant of an artificially aware Honda ASIMO, hence the honda logo.

Done completely in Photoshop CS4 on a Cintiq.

Have some old-school wanzer tendencies in this one, if I'm not mistaken.

Mechs' nickname in Front Mission game series - one of those old classic designs.

Ah. Never played any of those. Though, they do have some nice mech designs. I should endeavor to buy a book or two of those designs if possible.

Looks like something out of Patlabor. Really cool.

Yeah? I thought most the mechs in that show had like, clearly defined heads and necks?

In the series only the newer units where following the more humanoid design that the AVS-98 series had. Most were more like anthropomorphic construction machines. Even the military types were merely mobile gun platforms. The design was more for psychological reason since the unit's primary function is police. After all the public would probably accept something more human looking. Too bad Division 2 are full of incompetence who often times use excessive force.
